Fruit and vegetables contain few calories but have a maximum of nutrients.
They are rich in dietary minerals and fibre and in vitamins, but above all they can help to prevent certain diseases.
While nothing has as yet been proven, certain vitamins contained in fruit and vegetables are thought to be essential ingredients in the fight against cardio-vascular diseases and certain cancers.
Because of their high water content, they are low in calories, and are therefore suitable foods to prevent obesity and diabetes.
